The Tikka T3 rifle is manufactured by Sako in Riihimäki, Finland. The production of this series of bolt-action rifles started in 2002, some 18 years ago. It all started with a prototype T3 rifle in 2001, created by Kari Kuparinen who is now the R&D Director at Sako.

The Tikka T3, now called T3x, series is available in a wide variety of calibers, barrel lengths, colors, stocks and configurations. I would say that they are greatly respected, as they normally deliver really good accuracy out-of-the-box.

By 2016 it was time for Sako to do a variety of upgrades, and the model was renamed to Tikka T3x.

We reached a historic milestone on Monday as the Millionth Tikka T3 / T3x rifle was manufactured on 10.3.2020 at 8:54 am! The first T3 prototype was made in 2001 and the production series was introduced in 2002.

This historic moment has been in the making ever since Tikka production was moved to Riihimäki in 1989! This is the largest production volume for a single model ever manufactured at our rifle factory.

This one millionth Tikka is a standard production rifle, the very popular T3x Lite Stainless, (Cal. 270 WSM).

Tikka rifles are sold all over the world.

Below: The millionth Tikka was packed on March 10, 2020 at 8:54 am by Elisa Tuominen. It was a T3x Lite Stainless in .270 Winchester Short Magnum.

R&D Director Kari Kuparinen and CEO Raimo Karjalainen came to witness the wonderful moment in the history of the Sako Ltd. and Tikka rifles. Kari Kuparinen created Tikka T3 platform in 2001.

Do you have a Tikka Rifle? I do, namely the Tikka T3x TAC A1 in 6.5 Creedmoor for hunting and long range shooting. At the moment, my Tikka is taken down into the smallest bits and pieces for a fresh look of Cerakote.
