Norwegian Special Operation Commando during exercise Oslofjord 2019

Photo Of The Day – We take a detailed look at a group of Operators from Forsvarets Spesialkommando (FSK) / Norwegian Special Operation Commando.

The Norwegian Special Operations Forces are using the Colt C8 SFW and Colt C8 CQB rifles, and not the regular-issue Heckler & Koch 416.

Below: Liquor is expensive in Norway, better check the Duty Free out.

By the looks of it, the soldier has no less than three full magazines to the FN Minimi with him.

Full attack!

Below: The team working together.

Note: Pens in 4 colors and notepad in excellent condition. Toyota Landcruiser SUV. Colt C8 with Twin-Trijicons, lights and lasers.

Colt C8 with Aimpoint.

All photos are taken by Torbjørn Kjosvold / Forsvaret, The Norwegian Defense.

As a photographer for the Norwegian Armed Forces, he’s got an excellent Instagram that you can check out here.

This year’s planned NATO exercise, Cold Response, in Norway was set to be one of NATOs largest exercises in recent years with 15,000 troops were expected to participate. Sadly, with the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic this was dramatically scaled back. You can read more about Cold Response and Norway’s military over on our sister site Overt Defense.

POTD, short for Photo Of The Day, is TFB’s recurring articles where we go to great length trying to find the best pictures out there.
