In their 2020 catalog, Chiappa Firearms has a new series of lever-action rifles called Wildlands. Currently, this series includes four rifles: two Winchester Model 1892 replicas, a takedown 1892 and a takedown 1886. What sets these series apart from other Chiappa lever guns is that these are modernized guns packing some features that modern-day hunters demand.
The Wildlands series rifles come with threaded barrels and barrel mounted Picatinny rail sections that are suitable for attaching red dot sights or scout scopes. These rifles are also equipped with iron sights: Skinner aperture rear sights and fiber optic front sights. The furniture geometry is also hanged compared to their historical counterparts. Particularly, the forend has a triangular shape enlarged towards the rear and a flat bottom surface. Let’s see what model-specific features each of the Wildlands rifles has.
Chiappa Wildlands 1886
Being a Winchester Model 1886 replica, this rifle is chambered in the most popular 1886 caliber, the .45-70 Government. The tubular magazine has a four-round capacity. The rifle comes with oil finished laminate stock and grey Cerakoted metal parts. The muzzle thread pitch is 5/8×24. This rifle weighs 9.5 lbs, has a barrel length of 18.5″ and an overall length of 38.3″. Currently, only a takedown version of the Wildlands 1886 is available.

Chiappa Wildlands 1892
The Model 1892 is basically the scaled-down version of 1886. Right now, the Chiappa Wildlands 1892 replicas are only available chambered in .44 Magnum and with 5-round magazines. Both takedown and standard versions of these rifles are available with gray laminate furniture and gray Cerakote. Additionally, there is a non-takedown option that has walnut furniture and color case hardened receiver. The barrel length of all 1892 rifles is 16.5″ and the muzzles are threaded with 13.5×1 LH left-hand metric thread pitch. The overall length of these rifles is 35″ and they weigh 6.2 – 6.9 lbs depending on the configuration.
The walnut stock version of Chiappa Wildlands 1892 rifle has an MSRP of $1,434. The non-takedown laminate stock gun is priced at $1,599 and the price tag on the laminate stock takedown rifle reads $1,689.
